On the Feb-March menu:
-----Sea Salt Honey Salmon
-----Cheesy Cauliflower Breadsticks. I will need to use the blender as a ricer.
-----The kids and I just read "Stone Soup" the other day and of course we will be making it. :-)

Probably making these sometime:
-----Cheddar Chive Beer Bread. Such an easy bread. Adapted from "Joy of Cooking."

Discovered that Rage Against the Machine's "Renegades of Funk" is actually a cover! It is growing on me as the song continues. I have liked Afrika Bambaataa ever since hearing "Afrika Shox" in the movie "Vanilla Sky."

Sad this has to be sent home as a part of preschool...and, yes, we did read it.

-----"Dear Public School:It's Not Me, It's You"
-----"The President Wants Every Student to Learn Computer Science. How Would That Work?"

The kids tried these as a part of our Staycation today. They started in Germany in 1973 and are now in 60+ countries. Yes, the layers together were very interesting and it was nice European chocolate instead of the American stuff. Loved the nougat. My only complaint would be a bit of chewy, dryness to the exterior. They come in boxes of up to 96!
The kids were going around the house saying "Schokolade." :-)

Recipe finds:
-----Coconut Curry Popcorn. I am always looking for interesting popcorn seasoning recipes. We eat popcorn often...as recent as this morning actually when the kids and I viewed "A Wrinkle in Time."
-----Bourbon Ginger Beer Float. I am really excited about this one.
-----"Grandma's Sweet Potato Bread with Pecans." Paleo.
-----Jamaican-Style Beef Stew
-----Homemade Fritos
-----Quail and Mushroom Paella. Sometime within the next three years, we are going to start raising quail.
-----Garlicky Turnip Fries with Pomegranate Ketchup. For when we get a food processor.

Our new cheese drawer label courtesy of Trader Joe's Fearless Flyer. A bit of smile to start the morning. :-)

-----Olive Oil Mashed Potatoes. Vegan. Well, we tried these...I made a measuring cup full because I didn't have many potatoes. Husband was turned off right away by the Vegan description and when he tasted them said they tasted "like water." It was like tasting a mashed up potato without any seasoning. I found them edible but I was the only one in my family who would eat them. Still, I am intrigued by making these work. Next time I will try less liquid and maybe some of the suggestions in the recipe's comments. #FAIL #TryTryAgain

Twitter might drastically expand the character limit of tweets?

The Shape of It.....
My 2016 adventures with reading Shape Magazine.

Hmmm...this should be my second issue. I either misplaced or didn't receive the first. I will have to look around. Anyway, I have to take issue with the cover because my children took issue with the cover. Toddler said, "She showing me her belt." Preschooler wanted to know why she was taking off her underwear! #sigh #TheStateOfOurWorld
---Cool jacket :-)

The cover informs me this is Lauren Cohan from "The Walking Dead." A show I have been meaning to watch...despite having a family friend who has done special effects makeup for this show, I have not gotten around to starting viewing. I am not a big fan of blood and gore (ugg). Anyway, I suppose the cover is sort of a homage to zombie-hunting...yeah, well...I suppose the jacket is sort of a homage to zombie hunting.

So it is probably obvious that I don't always keep up with the trending celebrities and shows. I just realized that I have seen Lauren Cohan, albeit much more clothed, in something recently...the trailer for "The Boy" that I watched while earning Swagbucks. The premise seems a little done-before....but it could be an interesting movie.
