1. Happy & sad all at the same time...the pregnancy of a lady who is now brain-dead. I hope that all goes as smoothly as possible.

2. "Scotty" (from Star Trek)finally had his ashes sent into space. I didn't know that this was a temporary thing....and eventually it is going to be the same for actual remains. This would have more appeal to me if the send-off into space were permanent...but I suppose we would never allow that. I wonder if ashes/remains would be biodegradable in space....they could be put in a biodegradable container then & I suppose people wouldn't mind them floating around space.

3. Steve McQueen's ferrari goes up for auction in August.

4. The man who sang Monster Mash died....Bobby "Boris" Pickett.

5. Indian court issues arrest warrant against Richard Gere for public kiss.

6. Hugh Grant was arrested for throwing a container of baked beans at a photographer. The photographer tells what Grant did....but I would like to know what the photographer did which inspired Grant's actions.

7. Titanic life jacket being auctioned. The look of the jacket,if that is it in the picture, doesn't inspire thoughts of great safety to me.

8. Imagine coming home to find a bull in your angry bull.

9. World's oldest college graduate

Blog Apocalypse

This challenge is called Blog Apocalypse (set up by The Urban Monk). The Urban Monk will donate $1 to charity for every link that he receives. Currently, the charity will most likely be The Salvation Army.

This is Blog Apocalypse:
"The blogosphere is ending. No more blogs. Blog apocalypse. The internet is still working, the world is fine. But you can’t write anymore. Write your last post. Make it a good one. What is the reason you blog? What is the last gem of knowledge you want to leave? What do you want to be remembered for? Who are you? What is the meaning of life? Haha…well not exactly but you get the point. Pour your heart into it. "

If you decide to play, please leave a comment and I'll put a link to your post. :-)

-I found this challenge on Tinkerbell's blog...a blog which I always enjoy. :-)

J.R. Cash

How well I have learned that there is no fence to sit on between heaven and hell. There is a deep, wide gulf, a chasm, and in that chasm is no place for any man.

Success is having to worry about every damn thing in the world, except money.

A Coupon Site That Also Has Social Networking...That's Different

Right now I am taking a look at Coupons on the site can be searched by both merchant & keyword.
Companies that I am interested in on here:
-Massey's....Professional Outfitters (they have an exclusive to save 10% on all North Face purchases.
-Free Shipping on any Avon order
-Payless one point I had to replace shoes so often that all the Payless clerks knew me :-) (10% off purchase) (15 dollars off a purchase of a 100 dollars or more)
-Free Shipping from Coldwater Creek
Go Look. :-)

The site currently has 11,526 coupon codes...chances are there is something here for just about everyone. I also noticed that there are some offers that are exclusive to MyCoupons.

I was intrigued by the social networking part of the site & decided to explore the "Community" section.
The MyCoupons Community center, you can interact on our popular Shopping Boards (Forums), you can read and participate with our weekly Blog, and you can send and receive email with your email account.
-The forums have actually been around since 1997! There are even threads where you can post freebies & garage sale items. I was elated to find a thread for Amazon deals. I am beginning to think that the forums are going to be one of my new online addictions. :-)

There are also "Coupon Credit" reward points which can be redeemed for Visa Gift
Cards. This activity seems to be mainly for reporting coupon codes. This sounds like something I would enjoy...if I could find any codes that have not already been found. :-)
-And, of course, there is a leaderboard for those of us who are competitive about our points. :-)

Well....didn't get to Thursday Thirteen this week

Why did I not get to doing my Thursday Thirteen???....had to go out of town for a work-related errand, decided to visit/locate family graves (a genealogy errand that has been a priority for me to get to for a long time) ,got a horrid cold that is getting worse and many household chores. I would say that is a pretty good list of reasons. :-)

Anyway I had started a thirteen of recipe books I have sent for. The list is only 2...but I am posting it anyway.

1. Gooseberry Patch Family Favorite Recipes with Sun-Maid® Raisins & Dried Fruit also posts a free weekly recipe

2. Simply Delicious: Australian Lamb for Every Occasion

Update:It has been pointed out in the comments that this rally supports both the troops & their misssion. Do you support us remaining in Iraq?

I eventually need to have that Vista-enablement so I can play games that require higher versions of DivX to operate. It is my understanding that DivX 9.0 is only offered if one has Vista. I was just hesitating as long as I could as I don't necessarily trust Vista & like my XP Media Edition. :-( I will be following this story very carefully.

This t-shirt is called "A Cage Bird Dreams." That guy looks sort of sad & yearning....good job on the photo. :-)

By the way:
What makes you feel caged???

Happenings....mainly ScribeFire & Gothic Beauty

-----I am still trying out "ScribeFire." I like that there is a split you can write your post & look at the page that you are blogging about at the same time.
-----As near as I can tell, I can have more than one page open on my computer with a ScribeFire page open for each. This will make working on multiple posts so much easier!!!
-----Thank you to Baxter for introducing me to Scribefire. :-) I think that I am becoming addicted.
-----The situation in Iraq has "improved"...let's hope it improves MUCH MORE.

-----Browsing through the latest issue of Gothic Beauty magazine. Expect some blogging about the things I discover. :-)
-So far, my favorite part is the tribute to Laura Purdy (a designer who died)...there is a beautiful red & black gown that my husband said he likes too so I will have to check out how much it costs & maybe surprise him by buying one someday. I also like that a lot of the things featured in this magazine are affordable for the average person.
-Oh and there is an interview with Abney Park. I don't know if they can now since they are so well known but they used to actually answer when people asked questions about them in forums. I once asked a question about lyrics & they actually answered me. I love this band & have got my husband hooked on them too....when they first started getting big he thought I was talking about Linkin Park (whom he does not like for some reason....but I love the song "Numb"). Abney Park is considered Post-Apocalyptic Bella Dance's that for a genre? :-)
Abney Park used to have a lot of songs available on the Internet for free, legal download....I will have to see if I can find some links to put up here.
-Gothic Beauty has installed a new chatroom on the website. I will have to look at this & see if there are any interesting conversations to join. :-)

-----How nice I am now getting "Nigerian" spam asking for my bank account number specifically targeted to the fact that I am Christian (though it vaguely mentions that it would have given the "money" to a Muslim individual, also). It is clear that this spammer has Googled about me...or is just taking random guesses. It is very carefully worded spam...hits a lot of things that a Christian would find important. I DETEST SPAM.

drawing personality

What does your drawing say about YOU?

You tend to pursue many different activities simultaneously. When misfortune does happen, it doesn't actually dishearten you all that much.
You have a peaceful mind, viewing the world with calm and serenity. To you, life is not about struggle and strife but about existence and co-existence.
You like following the rules and being objective. You are precise and meticulous, and like to evaluate decisions before making them.
You feel morose and are prone to lethargy.
Cardinals are beautiful birds except when the hurl themselves against your windows over & over....advice anyone?
