Our Homeschool's Banned Books Weeks Choices

This years Banned Book's Week runs from September 25th-October 1st. We have picked our reading.

"The Giving Tree"

-----"How to Eat Fried Worms" movie and book are on our library hold list.

-----I will get "Little House on the Prairie" out of my hope chest. The kids love what they have read of these stories but Grandma's book has not made its debut yet. I can remember going with her to buy it...the cover is in good condition for being that old.

-----"The Lorax." This was our Kindergartener's first movie in a theater.

-----"Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Bill Martin jr. Eric Carle. The reason it is on the banned list is somewhat humorous...well, sort of...it was something like the people determining were confused with another author

-----Sylvester and the Magic Pebble, by William Steig. The kids have been read this several times.

What are you planning to read?

"7 Trader Joe's Snacks That Are School Lunch Sugar Bombs." Say it ain't so...the ever popular Joe Joe's are on the list. Someone did point out that the snacks are healthier than their brand name counterparts...but it does not seem by much.
