Thursday Thirteen

1. So, I signed up for "Banned Book Challenge 2016." I am keeping track of my reading progress HERE.

2. The kids made this bracelet out of string from a damaged backpack and a straw from a Dairy Queen trip. :-)

3. You can sign up for the readathon HERE. :-) This year, I am adjusting my schedule to try the full 24 hours...if my body is willing.

4.
I am working on cutting down the bottles for this. :-) Preschool Girl is excited.
When I collect up a bunch of toothbrushes and other scrap plastic bits, we are also doing this. :-)

5. -----The Marines have reportedly had to use museums for plane parts. #CouldntBudgetsBeCutElsewhere

6.
So we would have ended up with a pet garter/garden snake if he/she hadn't peed on Husband's hand. Preschool Girl was disappointed because she was not outside to see our guest. Preschool Boy found the snake and got to touch it. #homeschoolScienceEverydayLife

7.
Husband cut me a boquet. The transplants weren't looking well and will now have a better chance thanks to this trim up. They are making the house smell so good.
One of the Churches we belong to gave us this beautiful Easter Lily plant. :-)

The sedum is up. This particular bunch will eventually be growing between Blazing Star Liatris.

8.

Someone gave Yoda a wardrobe adjustment to fit in with all the Easter creatures. :-)

9.

#MerchandiseOfWalmart  #SometimesLifeIsLikeThat.

10.
Preschool Boy and Preschool Girl's Easter presents (they also did a family Easter Egg Hunt with candy).
If your children are into Infinity games, check Dollar General. These were clearanced to $3 and the guy gave them to Husband for $1.50 each because we got so many. People never buy them because no one realizes Dollar General carries them.

11.
Spotted at the local mercado. I am still trying to find things I would make with them. Apparently, some eat these as a snack food.

12.
New. Brewed by Anheuser-Busch. Aged on vanilla beans. A bit weird at first like most flavored beers...but yummy from about the third sip on. So basically your standard root bear taste, slightly beerified and very little carbonation.
We WERE saving a couple to pair with a good burger...but it was yummy from the third sip or so on.

13.

Homemade White Corn Tortilla "Doritos" as they were going into the oven.
This recipe (with the tortilla substitution).

Interesting. I like the flowers. I like the snake. The chips are making me hungry. Thanks for the eye candy.

You're kids are talented. My favorite pic is of Yoda with rabbit ears.

At first, when my Husband was putting together the bouquet, he was just putting in the hyacinths and I was like "why are you putting all the colors together like that?" Then he put the tulip in and I realized the beauty. He is an artist and has an eye for these sorts of things. It isn't shown but these are in a vase that belonged to my mother. Spring beauty. :-)

Sandyland,
Thanks for visiting! Some of the eats you purchased will probably go on my wishlist of things to try. :-)

Ooooo, cool list! Sign me up for the Root Beer, but DO NOT come anywhere near me with the snake. (I know they're not dangerous, but....phobia is phobia, eh?)

I like root beer, but can't have the alcohol.

Very eclectic Thursday 13. Glad to see you.

Mia Celeste,
Glad you visited. The chips were, in their way, MUCH better than Doritos. :-)

Colleen,
Yes, the Yoda made me smile, too. I am glad to have gotten back to Thursday Thirteen...I have always enjoyed your postings. :-)

Heather,
Thanks for visiting and I will be by to visit your blog soon. :-)
Yep, not sure Yoda would appreciate the bunny ears. :-)

Ron,
The rootbeer was good and we have tried another hard root beer since. I have only been persuaded to touch a snake once. I was once present for determining if a baby rattlesnake was a baby rattlesnake...yeah, there was NO WAY I would have touched that.

CountryDew,
I have gone through periods in my life where I was not able to have alcohol (thyroid issues). I hope that maybe you can enjoy having it in recipes for flavoring. I also hope life brings you some great non-alcoholic root beers. :-)

:-)
