Coffee and Tea Recalls....

Tassimo has a massive coffee maker and T disc recall...burn risk.....spurting liquid.
I am glad they are being recalled before there are more injuries. I just imagine going to make coffee for a special occasion or a surprise breakfast-in-bread and having that thoughtfulness end with a trip to the hospital. I guess this means that companies need to do more rigorous testing of their coffee makers.
Ganz Dancing Teapot...the handle can become too hot on some of these. This is too bad as I think they are really cute. Hopefully an improvement can be made if there is another production.

Chicken.....

-----Chicken With Portobello Mushrooms and Artichokes. We may substitute rum for the brandy.
-----Chicken With Red Grapes and Mushrooms. Uses red wine and is in a thyme cream sauce.
-----Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic. Says that it goes well with roasted new potatoes. I am not as excited about this one as I used to be...only because we have made a lot of similar dishes.
-----Raspberry Vinegar Chicken Breasts. As one comment suggested, we will try the sauce over rice (sounds unusual).

Not Forgotten....Zahra.

The remains of a 10-year-old girl from North Carolina named Zahra Clare Baker have been found. Her body was dismembered and spread over more than one location. I have read that it was also a possibility that Zahra was raped by two men at some point during whatever happened. The case is now (obviously) being treated as a homicide. A relative has said that Zahra died of natural causes and that the couple panicked (due to immigration status)and dismembered/disposed of Zahra. :-(

---North Carolina students collect toys in Zahra Baker's memory.
---There have been no arrests in this case (yet). The investigation is ongoing.

On My Bucket List:

-----See the flowers of a caper bush in person. Somewhere here in the States...maybe Hawaii.
-----Buy a good set of bells (for playing music). They could be expensive.
-----Take a surfing lesson at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. Someday my wave will come. :-)
-----See tortoises on the Galapagos Islands. A place I have wanted to go since childhood. Hopefully, no other species will be extinct by the time I get there.
-----Visit Acadia National Park. See the Peregrines.
-----See the Titanic Memorial
-----Ride in a blimp.
-----Taking photographs in Paris: Dîner en Blanc, Place de la Concorde, and the view under the Eiffel Tower.
-----Visit the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin.
-----See a rainbow in Ireland.
-----Run the Walt Disney World Marathon.
-----Run the Grand Canyon Marathon.

Some of these goals will be difficult to achieve...I am opposed to TSA pat-downs and the radiation of scanning.

I am still looking at buying at least one pair of the winter socks. I have Raynaud's Phenomenon and it gets scary sometimes during the winter....anything that might really work to keep extremities warm is appreciated. Normal gloves,socks,etc. don't work for me...no matter how fancy the lining. I was recently asked, by my new endocrinologist, if I get problems with this on body parts other than extremities. I did not know it was possible to get Reynaud's on body parts other than extremities...and wonder if it would mean that one had something else if it looked like Raynaud's on other body parts.
