We always alter recipes. :-)

Dinner tonight was Winter-Warmup Spaghetti. We made some alterations (as usual, altering a little of everything). This dish was definitely a 10 out of 10 for both of us.

Alterations in ingredients: Hamburger,2 small sliced onions, most of 2 green peppers (minus some snacking), 1 tablespoon chopped garlic, diced tomatoes (one can had sweet onions),8 oz. tomato sauce (we needed to use this up...but next time will use the paste), 8 oz. fresh Monterrey sliced mushrooms,we did not use the Parmesan.

Alterations in technique: Due to size of pan, the hamburger was browned separately. We browned the fresh mushrooms. The garlic was added when we started the simmering (instead of during the browning).

Notes: We did use the Creamette spaghetti. Our butter was unsalted cream butter. We did opt to use the crushed red pepper (even w/o Italian sausage, noses ran a little). Tossing the pasta in butter really made a difference.
