-----Early Elvis photos.
-----Gordon Ramsay is now on Twitter.
-----I still think Emily Elbert's "Thriller" cover is awesome.
-----Pedal Cars and Retro Collectables. I forgot that it is acceptable to spell collectables this way. :-)
-----Finding forgiveness in a Ziploc.

Adding to the Never Cooked With List....

Licensed Photo. "Farmhouse Fireplace" Taken by Roger Kirby.

A list of things that I have never cooked with (but intend to try).

I have never cooked with:
-----Almond milk (reportedly Michael Jackson had it with granola for breakfast)
-----Arrowroot powder
-----Barley Malt Syrup. The best way to use it is along with other natural sweeteners...I do not know what sweeteners I will use it with yet.
-----Bay scallops...or any scallops. Some of the people on Hell's Kitchen make cooking scallops seem like rocket science.
-----Bean sprouts. I have eaten them. Ham and Bean Sprout Salad sounds interesting.
-----Black sesame seeds. I have seen these mentioned many times and I am really eager to try them.
-----Cashew butter
-----Chipotle Tabasco
-----Curry Powder
-----Dark sesame oil. Sesame oil itself was on the list but I am now working my way through a bottle. :-) I have read that some people keep sesame oil in the fridge....this is what I am trying. Sesame oil can go rancid quickly.
-----Dry mustard
-----Enoki mushrooms.Mild.Crunch. Used for soups and stir fries.
-----Fennel
-----Fleur de Sel (maybe I have had this....haven't paid attention to sea salt labels)
-----Fried squash blossoms
-----Frozen ramen
-----Garlic Tabasco
-----Ground Szechuan peppercorns
-----Halloumi Cheese
-----Haricot Vert. French green beans. We will eventually be growing Haricot Vert.
-----Harissa....how to make Harissa Grilled Halibut with Grilled Red Pepper Harissa
-----Hoisin sauce. My first recipe candidate for cooking with hoison sauce is Salmon Summer Rolls with Dipping Sauce.....that way I get to learn to use the rice paper for rolling, too. I am also interested in this Beef and Green Bean Stir-fry ( I sometimes break my soy taboo and use soy sauce).
-----Hotel Bar butter. Part of New York cuisine for over a century.
-----Japanese soy sauce. There is a difference between Japanese soy sauce and the stuff we get in The States.
-----Katsoubushi (dried bonito flakes). Bonito flakes are bits of dried bonito fish and they look like wood shavings. They are perfectly edible by humans....but in the United States some companies sell them as cat treats (I do not want to eat the cat treats). Bonito is a type of tuna.
-----Kelp.Supposed to increase thyroid function...and I have thyroid problems. There are some kelp items I will be trying in addition to any recipes.
-----Kombu
-----Leeks. I will be making Julia Child's Potage Parmentier (Potato and Leek Soup). Apparently, you can add green beans to Potage Parmentier....I will likely not like that as I DETEST POTATO SOUP WITH GREEN BEANS IN IT.
-----Maltitol Syrup. A sugar-free corn syrup substitute. 90% as sweet as sugar with about half the calories.
-----Mirin. A co-worker was surprised that I know what it is.
-----Monkfish
-----Muscovado Sugar
-----Napa cabbage
-----Nori. I tried my first Nori independent of California Rolls rolls this week. It looked like a papery-green-jerky strip and reminded me of fish skin. I liked it.
-----Peanut oil
-----Pickled ginger. I have eaten it...just never cooked with it myself.
-----Pine Nuts (never tasted one)
-----Pomegranate Molasses.
-----Powdered peanut butter. It has a lot of possible uses...sprinkled as a flavoring on or in a lot of things. I want to use it in a stir fry...perhaps Kung Pao Chicken.
-----Roasted peanut oil
-----Salsify  Rich and Creamy Salsify Gratin
-----Sansho pepper (Japanese pepper seedpods)
-----Seitan
-----Sesame Seeds
-----Soba Noodles. I have had them and had them cooked for me.
-----Sherry Wine Vinegar
-----Shimeji mushrooms. Have to be cooked....otherwise are bitter.
-----Shungiku
-----Squid. I love to eat it.....but NOT pickled. Ditto for octopus on not having cooked and the same eating preferences as the squid.
-----Star Anise. Perhaps I will make the Haitian recipe Akasan.
-----Sweet Bean Paste
-----Tahini. Tomato Salad with Tahini Sauce....talks about eating it during Ramadan (I am assuming during the non-fasting hours).
-----Tamarind paste
-----Tobanjan (Chinese chili paste)
-----Wakame. If I figured a way to grow it, I would be careful since Wakame is invasive.
-----Wood ear mushrooms. My first cooking with Wood Ear Mushrooms will likely be Chicken and Wood Ear Mushroom Soup. The Chicken and Wood Ear Mushroom Soup uses peanut oil (which I have not cooked with yet).
-----Yellow Crookneck Squash

After consideration, I took off all the soy items....miso and so on. I am not supposed to have them due to my thyroid problems and think that I can't truly enjoy never being able to taste a dish I cook. I want to be able to try more than a few bites of a dish....so I can make my own judgement as to whether it turned out well.

Calendar.....

Licensed photo...DO NOT COPY.
Title: Maya Calendar
Description: Artifact of Maya Calendar in a sunray

-----May 7, 2010. Iron Man 2. I am looking forward to all the ACDC songs. I have heard that there are 15 of them...but I am not sure if this is true.
-----June 10....Season 7 of Hell's Kitchen starts.
-----June 28-July 3, 2010. Cornerstone....a big Christian rock and alternative music festival.
-----July 9, 2010. Predators...Rodriguez's reboot. Looks amazing. Lawrence Fishburne is in this movie.
-----August 20, 2010. The Expendables comes out. A Sylvester Stallone movie. It is about a team of mercenaries who go to South America to try to overthrow a dictator. Jason Statham and Jet Li are also in this movie.
-----2011. Six Flags Amusement Parks 50th Anniversary Celebration. I plan to go to at least part of it.

In My Life....

-----I haven't really slept well since the Daylight Savings time change. I know a lot of people experiencing this problem...but it is not normally an issue that I have.
-----I am likely going to a Fickle's Lot concert in June. It is a Relay for Life event. I am trying to figure out how to get involved in a Relay for Life events...if one can when it is just something you are stopping in a city for (vs. living there and being part of an ongoing team). I need to figure this all out soon.
-----Becoming an obsessive tea drinker...Husband makes the best iced tea.
-----I still want to see "A Star is Born." I am told that the Judy Garland version is best.
-----Making a list of things we need to do for the moving process. We are trying to move to a house more suited to our needs....will likely hear more later today. Even if we are not able to get the house we want, eventually there will be a move...might as well start figuring the process out.
-----When I last tried to read it, I got about half way through "Julie & Julia"....this was when I got the book from the library. Sister-In-Law gave me the book for Christmas. The movie is going to premiere on Starz in April...so I am busy trying to get the whole book in (starting from the beginning). I still have a LOT of things that I can not identify with Julie on.
-----Listening to Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark" as I type this.
-----I have one blog post that someone Spammed so many times (over a 100) that Google now thinks the post is written in Japanese. That post is temporarily closed until I clean it up. :-(

What I'm Wishing For.....

The question for the week is what we want to grow. I want to grow some cranberries...which are two months late in arriving....we have one area that could be an enhanced bog (work with your problems). I also am planning to grow some very old strawberries (among the first introduced in Germany). I will be growing a lot of things in containers this year and putting an emphasis on access for trimming/weeding.
_______________________

Other things I want:
-----To attend a Fickles Lot concert in June. I saw them at Wake the Dead Cafe  recently. The concert I want to go to is a Relay For Life event....my Mother has Stage 4 Breast Cancer.
-----Of course, I want my Mother to get better. In addition to the cancer, she also has diabetes and had a silent heart attack. My Mother found out about all of these problems on the same day.
-----I want to purchase some more Polaner All-Fruit for my Mother....this seemed to make her happy.
-----We are in Day 3 of possibly getting into a house that is more suitable for us. I hope this works out.
-----I want the time to figure out the order of prizes that I would like to win for Ultimate Blog Party 2010. Time is not something I always have.
-----To try the Apple Matzo Kugel recipe. I don't know if it will taste good.
-----To see the Mellencamp/King musical "The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County" in Atlanta in September. I hope that they don't have to put the opening off any longer.
-----To stop catching so many colds. It would help if I did not have co-workers who actually hide their illnesses and come to work when they shouldn't.
-----I would like to know if I actually have a zinc deficiency (one of the things in Zicam). I was researching side effects of too much zinc and what foods are high in zinc.
-----To take Doggie to obedience school. I want to find something from the American Kennel Association....I think they are the best as far as this goes. I have had free access to some "Sessions with Cesar" in the past (via BzzAgent)....but I have not gotten that much into Cesar-even though I am part of the "pack" or something like that. Doggie could use obedience school....a bit stubborn. Doggie is making a lot of progress as of late.
-----To never see a Chia Obama in person.
-----I want to know why many people don't see me as a human being due to my eye problem. I want to know why people pretend that this treatment is horrifying....but do the same thing to me. Also, why I can put on  a pair of sunglasses and the same people are nice to me and don't recognize me...why they see the eye problem and not me.  I want to know why people mistake me for anyone else they have seen at my work who has an eye problem or is less than conventionally pretty. I want to know why some people actually tremble, gasp or make fun of me when they see my eye problem. Whenever a celebrity has a lazy eye or the like, I see people on Twitter saying things like they would "commit suicide" if they had such. I am not "creepy" or "ugly" and you should not be "freaked out" by me. Plus, if you want to know which eye to look at...most people look at both eyes...try it....look at the center of the face and the good eye. It really is possible to start thinking of someone with an eye problem as being just like anybody else.
-----I want to know why men are naturally better at video games and role-playing games (like Warhammer 40K) and there are games that I can't get no matter how I try (like some parts of Warhammer 40K).
-----To get a working record player. Also, to collect more records. I go to thrift shops and rarely find an unscratched record. I must find a way to travel to record shops more often...yes, I have to travel to find a record shop (groan). I plan to make some sort of turntable...and hope that I will not ruin records using it.
-----To buy a graphic novel called "Nixon's Pals." It is about a man who is a parole officer for super heroes. Imagine the training one would have to do for a job like that.
-----To get a big thick chopping block like they use at the CIA (Culinary Institute of America).
-----The series "The Chopping Block" to have another season. For what it's worth, I agreed with the choice that was made for the winner of this show. I could not make up my mind what I thought of the second place couple and I really liked the third place couple. I really learned a lot from this show..
-----I would like Trader Joe's to post more of their products online. It is hard when they only talk about 3 or 4 products at a time. I am really enjoyed the Eggplant Garlic Spread....I put it with egg noodles and chicken. I plan to visit Trader Joe's again in June.
-----This Iron Butterfly Baseball Cap. I would also like to see a video that actually looks like Elvis singing Inna-Gadda-di-Vida.....I think he would have been awesome at singing this. I wrote an e-mail to Iron Butterfly telling them that they should do this. I enjoy having Husband do an imitation of Elvis singing Inna-Gadda-di-Vida.
-----To attract a lot of bees to my yard (fairly safe bees only). I am trying to do my part to fight Bee Collapse. We are going to take up beekeeping. Eventually, no surprise considering my username, we intend to raise butterflies.
-----To attend the BlogHer and SXSW Conferences within the next few years. BlogHer is within my price range....if I use the student rate. When I do SXSW, I want the full package...and that is going to take some saving up.
-----To try many grilling recipes....especially marinades. I have been collecting different marinades whenever I see a clearance or sale at the grocery. I like Newman's Sesame Ginger and have a Merlot Sauce in the pantry that we are going to try. We just tried Tastefully Simple's Smokey Bacon Grill Sauce recently....good on cheeseburgers...a tad spicy.
-----To own "Dragon:The Bruce Lee Story." If I could ask for things that weren't possible...then one of them would be for Bruce and Brandon Lee to have not tragic-and-premature deaths. I also wish that tragedy hadn't befallen Lennon and JFK, Jr.
-----More farm-fresh eggs. I have found someone to buy them from and need to call to start arranging pick-ups. The info is on the side of my refrigerator...I just need to call and get this started. Maybe I will tell people I am "subscribing" to farm-fresh eggs. :-)
-----To visit Dollywood. I want to go on their SkyZip ride. Multiple ziplines in the Smokey Mountains. I also want to safely see a bear in Smokey Mountains National Park...and have the knowledge of how to photograph it (relatively) safely.
-----To visit Graceland. I want to make leaf rubbings of the Fall leaves there...a souvenir that would suit me.
-----I would love to have the sewing talent to make a Elvis-style jumpsuit that suits me. I saw the VMA's on TV.....and did not really like Katy Perry's outfit or performance.....her outfit looked like Elvis' Aloha from Hawaii jumpsuit cut up into several pieces.
-----To have Hogan's Heroes remade into a movie. I would want it done in a way that was not offensive to  Germans/other people in WWII.We have the complete series that we have been slowly watching....and then passing on to my Mother (who is very ill and likes them to pass the time). TVLand.com has a rotating schedule of episodes that you can watch for FREE.
-----More storage containers....lots more. I am especially longing for refrigerator and closet containers. I do not like Tupperware that much....it just gets hard to clean after a while. I would rather buying Ziploc containers every so often.
-----A dehydrator. To make different kinds of jerky. I am intrigued by jerky made out of salmon.
-----To buy a case of Blu Frog (energy drink). I like the flavor much more than Red Bull. Unique. I was hoping to buy some for Summer guests but they did not stay long enough.
-----To find a medieval-looking dress that coordinates with my green Marvin the Martian fisherman's hat. "The Very Merry Seamstress" seems like it might be a good choice.
-----Purchase a mosquito trap called a "Mosquito Magnet" for the grill area. The Mosquito Magnet traps the mosquitos for 200 feet! Right now we have citronella oil tiki torches that we use for get-togethers....and they are beautiful (looks like a Hawaiian lua or fire poi show).
-----To take a cruise to somewhere warm. Cliche but true wish. Jamaica sometimes sounds intriguing....Breezes Resort. I also plan on a whale-watching cruise to New England/Alaska.
-----To play Bossaball. I do not know of anywhere in the United States that offers this game. I hope I am in better shape the first time that I play.
-----To find ways of eating meat that cause less strain on the environment.
-----To have a complete lapidary equipment setup. I have picked out what I think will be our first rock saw and now must save up. I have BAD hand-eye coordination due to an eye problem....so, I will have to ask Husband to complete anything I design (same with the bee-keeping).
-----To get a subscription, for Husband and I to share, to Lapidary Journal.
-----A new stock pot set. I want to make sure that this set is made better (last did not take to prolonged periods of heat...I kid you not). I also want it to be the correct width/height proportion to not have soup evaporate quickly. I have done some reading on this and found that my original pots were likely not thick enough.
-----A claw-foot tub.
-----A rubber duckie. I have told Husband that they have rubber duckies at the dollar store. I am going to drop this "hint" to Husband again. The rubber duckie and the claw-foot tub would go perfectly together. :-)
-----To learn both freehand and string glowsticking.
-----Replace several necklace chains that I am allergic to.Repair a couple that have broken.
-----Purchase and board a horse. Or at least go horseback riding with the same horse on a regular basis. Learn how to saddle/care for a horse. There is an equestrian school that I really want to attend.
-----To make another Kiva investment (micro-business loans to third-world countries). I am on my second Kiva investment and it seems to be going well for the small business that I am lending to. I have been very happy about this whole adventure....I won a gift certificate to make the investment and I intend to just continually give the $25 out to help (if I  continue to be lucky about it getting re-paid).
-----To open a coffee shop....obviously from the title of my blog. I intend to grow much of my own product for this shop.
-----More home barista equipment.  We just received a coffee grinder from Mother-In-Law.
-----To go Zorbing.
-----To go on a hot air ballon ride. Every time I have tried, the weather has thwarted me.
-----To get a truck....because we have to borrow one a lot.
-----To get my Phd. I will be getting very intense with my urban farming...to the point that in the end I will technically be an Environmental Engineer. Another want, unfortunately, is for me to be better at math...I have to pass several higher level math courses at some point.
-----Get the proper set-up and repairs done for my guitars. Then learn how to play them. I need a boogie bag for all but one. I also need guitar straps and stands.
-----To watch every video on FoodTube.
-----To visit a Whole Foods. I will have to look at their store locator and try to work it into a vacation.

Getting Ready for Ultimate Blog Party 2010.....

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

I will be attending again this year. I am giving away a prize (to 1 winner) of two year-long magazine subscriptions...one to "Taste of Home" and the other to "Simple & Delicious."

I have a lot of things that I want to get done on my blog before the party starts.
-----For one thing, I want to move the blogroll to the new "Pages" feature of Blogger. The reason for this being that the new auto pagination is making my sidebar excessively long. This is going to be quiet a task.
-----I want to make a virtual guest list....people whose blogs I will visit to invite to my Party post while the party is going on.
-----I want to come up with other giveaways that I will do during the party. This will be interesting as funding for that kind of thing will not come until very close to the party. Hmm. I do not know what kind of items I would like to giveaway.

In My Life....

Days of Our Lives:
---I can't decide whether to feel sorry for Nicole's character on Days of Our Lives. I think that Brady does still love her...but how could a person really choose to be someone who has done that many awful things with no prospects of changing???
---I don't know why someone hasn't sat Melanie down and told her all the evil things that the Alamians have done. Surely then Melanie would understand why Carly had her raised by someone else.

-----We are in Day 3 of the possible journey to living in a different house...please keep this in your thoughts and prayers.
-----Of course, I forgot to take my niece's belated birthday present with when I went to visit my Mother on Sunday. My Mother will see niece before I will. I always forget to take something when I visit people.
-----Italy to require anyone who uploads videos to the Internet to get government authorization.

I have no idea who will win.

-----I felt bad for Sharon when she got sick. I most definitely would not have a sick person serving food.
-----I feel really bad for the way people on her team react to Cyndi. I can see their point, when Cyndi is totally off subject. Usually I think Cyndi is HIGHLY intelligent and that is intimidating to some people. It is obvious that Cyndi is constantly thinking about things...and sometimes she either thinks aloud or shows more interest in what others consider mundane than is socially acceptable. Cyndi clearly explores the details of life.

Sometimes rejection is OK.

If this post is rejected, I am totally OK with that. Rejection may even be the intended destiny of this post.

:-)

Right now I am helping to test a new feature for LoudLaunch called "BuzzEditor."

BuzzEditor helps make sure LoudLaunch's sponsored reviews meet guidelines for disclosure and are free of grammar/spelling errors. The intent of this post is to see what happens if some posts are rejected...including making sure Finances go to their proper locations during the process.

I had never thought of making sure Finances go to the right place. That is a very important thing to test...for both blog writers and the Advertiser providing the funds. I continue to be impressed with the thorough testing.

Update....The post was rejected and that means BuzzEditor is working well. I happy to have been rejected. :-)

-----Tobanjan (Chinese chili paste)
-----Tofu. Have eaten....though I don't count heating up veggie burgers as having cooked with it. I might prepare something from the "This Can't Be Tofu!" cookbook. I can no longer eat tofu myself...soy products and my thyroid problem don't mix.

In My Life....

-----Wondering if there exists an autographed photo of Luke Perry with Buffy. I know that Husband would like one....or maybe just an autographed Buffy the Vampire Slayer photo with her standing by herself.
-----I have lost a lot of weight...but it has been gradual. Very few people are noticing...including me. I did not notice it until a few people pointed it out to me. This is good...I have Hashimoto's. I think eating more regular meals has done me a lot of good.
-----I noticed that DraftGore is up for archival purpose only at this point. Would you want Gore to be President? I am undecided on how I think Obama is doing.
-----I have started saving "Box Tops for Education" for my nieces.

In the midst of it all.....

So...I am still helping to test "BuzzEditor" ( a new service from LoudLaunch). I have always insisted on professionalism and disclosure in my sponsored reviews and I am glad that LoudLaunch is doing the same. Testing of LoudLaunch has been extensive and it has actually been one of the few structured things in my life as of late.

Right now we are:
-----In Day 2 of a possible new home purchase.
-----Training Doggie even more due to a neighbor's constant (unjustified) complaints to us about noise.
-----Praying that my Mother gets better...Stage 4 Breast Cancer.
-----Always on the lookout for additional job opportunities for me...freelance or otherwise. I have been looking for a few years now...job market here is not good and I hate my job.
-----Hoping that my Brother is able to get himself into a new home and job situation. Obviously, he and I have a lot in common.
-----Wondering why I am suddenly feeling/doing better with my Hashimoto's. We can't afford insurance to find out so strategizing about needed regular doctor's visits.

That is just part of the iceburg....so testing BuzzEditor has been a nice thing to focus on.

BMW (convertible)...this is here as a test keyword. Also, I would just love to get in a BMW and go up the coast somewhere. I guess a Fickle's Lot concert (Relay for Life), Trader Joe's and my first visit to El Pollo Loco in June will be good....though there will be no BMW.
-----Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) rushed to the hospital after drinking too much coffee.  I have a problem with even one cup of coffee anymore if it is too strong....a weird problem...I get all emotional (even weepy).
-----KISS will open their second coffee shop. This one will be in Australia.

-----"Rachel" has no idea who "Ross" is getting married to. I hope that they are able to get this ironed out. Long-time friendships are important (I lost one recently).

Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake Flavored Lip Shine

In My Life....

-----I am reading the book "Paranoia" by Joseph Finder. On Daily Lit, it is free. :-) I started reading this before (via the installments) but could not keep up....so starting over again.
-----Via Daily Lit, I am also reading "1632" by Eric Flint. It is a two-times-in-history-meet sort of thing from what I can tell.
-----Doggie is getting more trained each day. No significant progress on kenneling though.
-----My Purex Complete 3-in-1 sample arrived. The sample is enough for two loads. Now I just have to get brave enough to try it. It is a blue sheet of detergent with a green strip and two white stripes at the top...it covers both the washing and the drying. I think the white is the fabric softener and the green is the anti-static. I am excited about this product. If I like it, I am going to give full size starter kits as Mother's Day extras...if I can find them reasonably priced.
-----Taking a jar of Polaner All-Fruit to my Mother's today. I think that she can have this....diabetic so, of course, she has to carefully watch ingredients.
-----Sending my niece a late birthday present...like Dance Dance Revolution but it is High School Musical for the Playstation 2. :-)
-----Niece recently got a Big Wheel. I am still wishing that there was such for adults.
-----Still helping to test a new feature of LoudLaunch. :-)
-----I have met a lot of people recently who are doing like we are....already starting on the Christmas shopping.

More LoudLaunch Time.....

As you may have noticed, I am helping to thoroughly test a new LoudLaunch feature...."BuzzEditor."

BuzzEditor will help ensure that LoudLaunch bloggers have professional reviews. Anyone who has sponsored reviews on their blog should have disclosure. Sponsored posts should also be free of grammar and spelling errors. I have been following some of these same guidelines since at least 2006...and I am really glad to see a company double check that everyone involved is keeping within quality writing standards.

Things I like about LoudLaunch:
-----Honestly, the pay rate has been great! LoudLaunch takes a much smaller percentage from writers or advertisers than ALL of the  sponsored review services that I have experienced. They have quickly become my favorite of all the sponsored reviews that participate in.
-----Variety of topics. I review everything from vacations to rehab centers. I have written about events and told of PSA's for causes I truly believe in.
-----The efforts that LoudLaunch goes through to patiently work with writers...the test I am doing now being one of them.
_____________

This is another Time Constraint Test....meaning that the system will remind me when I have not completed certain steps. :-)

I get to deliberately procrastinate for a while. :-)

In My Life....

-----Very tired....work has been exhausting.
-----We started Christmas shopping this week. Trying to get as many things free via coupons as we can this year.
-----I think we finally found ice cream containers that work. Usually ice cream starts getting ice crystals after one day in our freezer. Blue Bunny has some sort of seals that are actually working in our freezer. I have enjoyed two helpings of Mint Chocolate Chip...and the ice cream has stayed crystal-free for 5 days....that is definitely a record. I wish that Blue Bunny made pineapple.
-----Catching up on "Days of Our Lives" episodes. I really did not like Philip's tie on Tuesday's episode. Two collars of blue....checkered....and big. Frown.
-----I have a desk now...something I have not had for most of last laptop and all of this one. Sometimes sitting at a desk is just more structured and organized...thankful that Neighbor was getting rid of a desk. Sadly, I could use my scanner all the time now...but it does not work on Vista. Good news though...Husband says we can buy another scanner and share it. I hope the new scanner scans text better...sometimes I have to guess blurry words when preparing a recipe or risk getting the book covered in ingredients. A good scanner is expensive...so we will have to save up. Husband wants the best we can arrange to afford....so, we will have to save up.
-----My old scanner will be donated to a Church. :-)

Calendar.....

-----May 7, 2010. Iron Man 2. I am looking forward to all the ACDC songs. I have heard that there are 15 of them...but I am not sure if this is true.

And the test goes on....LoudLaunch :-)

The past several days have been fascinating. I am helping to test LoudLaunch's new feature called "BuzzEditor." I think this is a great way to check spelling and grammar...not to mention, protecting the integrity of Bloggers and Advertisers.

KeyWord One-----"This is only a test. If this were an actual post there would be an actual keyword. This has been a test of the BuzzEditor system." :-)

I have been doing sponsored reviews since at least some time in 2006...and I have to say that this is the most care that I have seen to ensure professionalism. Way to go, LoudLaunch!!!

I am getting used to the new BuzzEditor system and I hope that other users will understand it quickly.

-----I would love to see a forum or Twitter group especially for LoudLaunch bloggers at some point.
-----I have said it many times before...I admire the degree to which disclosure is ensured. LoudLaunch checks for disclosure with each submission.
-----LoudLaunch is fair in their payments. I had part of my taxes done today....and the tax consultant was impressed (we had a great conversation about making income via a blog...something she had never been introduced to).
-----LoudLaunch checks to make sure that blogs are not just paid content. The world has enough Spammers (though I thank them at times since I "Exercise for Comments".

Keyword Two....again, only a test. :-)

Anyway....BuzzEditor coming soon to a LoudLaunch blogger near you. I will keep blogging on what I think after the new feature launches.:-)

In My Life....

-----I have a new phone....a One Touch Tribe 800A. I wish that it came with a user manual instead of what reads like a summary of features. I am not having fun learning how to use this phone...but it is an awesome phone. I will be able to be online more...and get more done. :-)
-----I am supposed to be getting a sample of a low sodium sea salt.
-----I missed the results of the Hellman's Real vs. Light Taste Test. I will have to write them about this. Husband and I think the real mayonnaise was "A." I don't know if we were supposed to look at the mayonnaise (vs. blindly tasting) but we based our very first impression on color/thickness. Sample A looked like real mayonnaise.

Soup, Salad and Everything.....

Husband is on the way to the store to pick up the chicken for "A Little Bit of Everything Salad." Making this salad tomorrow will serve two purposes....a test run for a Douglas Adams-ish dinner party we are having called "Soup, Salad and Everything" and part of my entry for the "Eating Your Words Challenge."

Things that need to be done:
-----Setting up the table so that it is photograph-able. Our actual kitchen table is to big and up against a wall....just would not look right for the photo.
-----Lots of chopping. I like to chop.
-----Cleaning the brass goblets that Husband bought me from the thrift store.

I have a lot more to do.

If you don't see it, this is good.
More helping to test LoudLaunch features.

What is the meaning of the title of this post? I am helping to test a new feature of LoudLaunch. If this post is mainly free of Grammar errors, spelling errors and a disclosure statement can be found...then the "BuzzEditor test is working. The editing is partly done by humans while certain components are being tested. However,I can tell, from the past days of playing with how BuzzEditor will work, that this is going to be a GREAT asset to being a LoudLaunch blogger or advertiser.
LoudLaunch has become my favorite of all the sponsored reviews/posts that I consider doing. I like that there is such variety and the pay rate is very pleasing. I have recieved as high as $45 (and a little bit of change) for two of my reviews...extra money to help pay the utility bills.
Campaigns I have enjoyed with LoudLaunch:
-----Breezes Resorts. I am particularly interested in the vacations to Jamaica. I want to horseback ride every day,see fire-breathing and visit the world renowned "7 Mile Beach." I wonder if there are poi shows in Jamaica...I am a big fan of fire poi when it is done with great music.Yesterday I was talking to someone in a store about cruises to Jamaica and other destinations...what I have learned via being a LoudLunch blogger is sometimes very useful outside of the Blogosphere. :-)
-----C'Elle...a service that harvests menstrual blood stem cells. C'Ell may save many lives. I love to do PSA's for any cause I believe in...even when some tell me that it sounds "icky.
-----MyCoupons.com...I like the printable grocery coupons. Given the economy, I am thankful to learn about sites like this.
-----The American debut of the Russian artist Victor Lysakov
-----Blue Nile. I love their rings and have been a fan for years.

In My Life....

-----Looking through the Pampered Chef catalog. I understand that it is "pampered" chef....but things seem to be getting plainer and the prices seem to be getting higher. The most interesting (reasonably priced) thing to me right now is the ice cream sandwich maker.
-----I am getting a sample of an instant spray shampoo. That should be interesting. I have never tried anything like that....the sort of thing used in hospitals and when one is going camping with no usable water. I looked on the Freeman website and this costs $7.00 a can. I think that Freeman should give out samples of this product to homeless shelters....not to drum up business but as a good deed.

I have started watching the series "WebZeroes." Humorous....reminds me of a movie we like "The Gamers."

Misc.

-----All about the Vesper Martini...from James Bond.
-----Apple and Apricot Crumble
-----Special Stack Salad. Uses mashed potatoes. I learned today that Buffalo Mozzarella is made from milking a water buffalo. From the sound of it, this would look nice served at a dinner party.
-----Learning to be Grateful. If you express your thankfulness more than once, that is all the more kindness going out in the world.
-----Homemade Herbal Sunscreen Lotion recipe
-----Natural Sunscreen recipe...uses green tea. I have sensitive skin so I want to try something like this.

There is always hope....Autism

This post has two purposes...to test out some new LoudLaunch features and to indirectly speak to those who have given up on children with Autism. I have known children with autism where those around them only looked at "controlling" their behaviors...this approach has always upset me.

The LoudLaunch service that I am testing called for me to write a post about Dr. Toni Atkinson of toniatkinson.com....but the site I just referenced no longer works (either for the purposes of the test or the site has just been taken down since LoudLaunch last worked with him/her).

Anyway....Dr. Atkinson did something that I highly approve of-diagnostic psychological assessment services for children who might have Autism. What I like is that Dr. Atkinson "identifies the child's strengths and weaknesses." The emphasis for me is on the strengths....something I think people tend to forget about children with autism. A lot of children with autism have some area that they are keenly interested in (science, patterns,etc)...think of how enriched some part of their world could be if people acknowledged this more.

While not everyone with autism is a savant (like Dustin Hoffman in "Rainman"), some steps can be taken to give a child a better chance at some level of a fulfilling life (perhaps without the "inevitable" institutionalization). Rarely, there is even a recovery from autism....believe it or not (Google it and you will find research on this). To those I have known who have seen this illness as futile....really THINK AGAIN.

I have read that Autism can be evaluated as early as 12-14 months of age...then autistic children have a whole lifetime's adventure to live just like anyone else. :-)

(In case you missed it, this post was sponsored by LoudLaunch) :-)
