LIFELOCK

Lately, I have been reading about LifeLock (via LifeLock.com, searches on Google/Google News and LifeLock reviews by consumers). I research any company whose services I am considering using....BEFORE I try their trial offer (which is my next step). LifeLock is "America's Number 1 Identity Theft Protection Program."

LifeLock has a 1 million dollar guarantee (up to that) if their service fails....very impressive. Contrary to what many people think, LifeLock does not claim that its service is bulletproof, LifeLock just works to make your ID only used by and useful to YOU.

One of the things that ceases my attention about LifeLock is how confident the CEO, Todd Davis, is in the integrity of the product. Todd has willingly published his social security number as a testament to the reliability of Lifelock's services. Of course, thieves have attempted to use Todd's number....several of them are being combatted right now from what I understand. One of the cases did cause some damage and LifeLock was able to help right away.

LifeLock has been spoken about on:
CNN
The Wall Street Journal
CNBC

LifeLock has also been endorsed by:
politician Fred Thompson (as part of his ABC contract)
Paul Harvey
Howard Stern
Rush Limbaugh

I have spent hours doing some of the same things that LifeLock does. This is very STRESSFUL. When cards/a purse have been lost or stolen, I have been terrified that I would miss replacing or suspending something crucial.

I am very interested in LifeLock for time-savings and PEACE OF MIND. I know that I will have even more cards and documents to take care in the future-I will be using these in daily operations for my someday-coffee-shop.My coffee shop will eventually have multiple locations. When I have my own business, I think that LifeLock will be a good organizational tool for me.

Another thing that I have thought of is using my list on LifeLock as a kind of checklist for making sure everything gets taken care of if I move. I might move at some point....I am thinking more towards the retirement years....but you never know.

Among the services LifeLock provides:
-Replace documents when your purse or wallet is lost/stolen ("WalletLock")
-ERecon....scan the internet for private info (that should not be published). I am discovering that many USERID registrations are sold/compromised....so much for the "privacy policies" that most websites post. I have spent aggravating amounts of time fixing this (for myself and others). Finding this kind of information sooner can be important...it seems like it is a domino effect (with one company after another giving the information or having it thieved).
-Place/renewing fraud alerts on accounts at the credit bureaus. You can do this yourself IF you are willing to take the time and you remember to renew.
-Remove name from phone solicitation & junk mail lists. This means that thieves can't sign up for your "pre-approved" credit card offers.

I will be using the LifeLock promo code RD17 to try LifeLock free for 30 days. If I choose to keep LifeLock, the promo code entitles me to only have to pay 9 dollars a month.

I will be keeping readers informed as I explore more. :-)
