Thursday Thirteen....I hope you are having a good day.

1.U.K. Study shows that a "fat tax" on fatty, salty and sugary foods could help save lives. Would you be opposed to something like this in your area?

2. This bread tastes like cardboard & dirt....literally. Not good. I am getting more & more scared about the things that people are eating lately....you hear so much about food scares on the news.

3.
You can vote one daily & it would mean a lot to me. I am thankful for each & every vote. :-)

4. I am a participant in Stanford's "Fold@Home" Project. My computer's idle time is being used to figure out things about how proteins should fold. This can help to find cures for many diseases.

5.

6.

My blog is worth $238,800.42.
How much is your blog worth?

7. The Honey Bunches of Oats website:
Onespoonful.com
-I am entering their "Breakfast Block Party" sweepstakes. The contest can be entered daily until September 13th. I would find a Breakfast Block Party to be silly fun. Hubby wondered why we would want 99 people to have breakfast with us. I would like to see how much milk it takes to feed 99 people. :-)

8. Our resident woodchuck Osama Bin Chewin' hasn't visited us lately. Maybe he has moved on to terrorize another yard.

9. I put this one up to see what kind of comments it would draw but nobody ever said anything. :-)

10. Rest in Peace, Lady Bird Johnson.

11. GasBuddy.com....I use this to find the lowest gas prices in my area.

12. Pepsi Ice Cucumber...available only in Japan. I would try this if I could find some...would you??? :-)

13. It can be very dangerous to listen to your I-Pod, talk on a cell phone or use a laptop outdoors during a storm.

Are you having a good day????

Cucumber soda!! We went to the Coca Cola museum in Atlanta a few years ago, and let me tell you, Cucumber soda sounds awesome compared to some of the things people drink! there was watermelon soda in China, and in Italy, they like things bitter and they had one that tasted like ear wax! We were gagging and spitting that one out! Oh my goodness that was the nastiest stuff ever!

Goodbye to Lady Bird; may she rest in peace.

The fat tax story scared me. It's moving toward a total nanny/big brother state.

I hadn't heard about Lady Bird Johnson; another icon gone. I'm not sure about the Cucumber Pepsi--I'm a Pepsi fan, but I don't know if I'd like the combination or not. :) Guess I won't be finding out, either, if it's only available in Japan. Pity! Thx for your visit and happy TT. :)

I'm more of a Coca Cola fan, but I must admit the ice cucumber is a good idea. :-) Interesting list!
Thnaks for visiting my essentials TT!

I will have to try the watermelon soda but not the one that tastes like earwax. Surprisingly, I don't know what earwax tastes like.....but I don't want to know. For the most part, I will try anything that is safe once....as long as it is legal & moral.

I am a little leery of food products from China right now though. :-(

I am hoping that the iced cucumber soda becomes available on at least a limited-stores-only type of thing hear. Like when Bawlz energy drink had their "Paint Ball" edition at 7-11's and CompUSA's.

Aaaah, fruit loops, I forgot my TT again. My brain, my brain. However, I love your list. What a well thought out and nicely planned list. Not to mention--very entertaining. I'm thinkin' that cucumber pepsi won't make it to my fridge any time soon. Have a great week-end. I'll have to add you to my blog roll. Have a great weekend.

Wonderful Thursday 13! Taxing fatty foods is a good idea. My daughter is overwieght but the tax would not help her since she is bad with money. Cucumber...hmmm! Possibly.
